The meme is : Three sentences at random from three WIPs. (In my case RIPs.)

On one side of the road stood a pretty little church, rosy bricks and steep grey slate roof. On the other something that looked like a man. The grey coated figure carried a tall staff, but didn't look as if he'd need it.

The Victorian crowd did love royalty. When a Prince of the Indian States stepped out of his carriage, he and his entourage blazing with bright silks and gold mounted jewels, there was quite a cheer. It didn't hurt that Prince Khagesh was young and handsome, his red hair and violet eyes showing, the British were quick to tell themselves, his descent from Macedonian Greeks, and possibly from Alexander himself.

The swordsman's mind was not really harder to read than most. But if the normal mind flashed its thoughts in neon, Fujimiya wrote his in quiet colours on vellum. Schuldig had to actually pay attention.

Interesting meme. It's sad to think how many promising WIPs are stuck in limbo somewhere out there in the world.

Of these three samples, the first is my favourite. The cloaked figure is intriguing and is an interesting contrast with a cheery little church.

Ooh, could that possibly be Kougaiji in the second sample?

I like the writing style of these sentences. Makes me wish I could read more.

You're quite right about Kougaiji. I was trying an anti-writing block exercise (it didn't work) and was intrigued by the picture of aristo Sanzo at Ascot, one bare head golden among the tophats.

Thank you, and wish I could write more. But they're certainly not as good as any trisentences you could share. (That's my idea of a subtle hint)

Yay! You have writings! I am very intrigued by that first one. Is that an opening sentence? Because I would read on. And I thought that might be Kougaji in the second. I like that contrast of neon and vellum. Don't let them be RIPs, but always WIPs!

Thank; but I assure you, at my best I was nowhere as good as you. The first was in setting the scene, but not quite an opening sentence. I'm afraid it's for the Weiss Kreuz fandom. The protagonist, Schuldig, could be thought of as a Zakuro with some Zenon heft for backing.

Will be glad to read anything you care to share.
