A meme copied from [personal profile] elmey. Hope it provokes better writing from my f-list!

The meme is : Three sentences at random from three WIPs. (In my case RIPs.)

On one side of the road stood a pretty little church, rosy bricks and steep grey slate roof. On the other something that looked like a man. The grey coated figure carried a tall staff, but didn't look as if he'd need it.

The Victorian crowd did love royalty. When a Prince of the Indian States stepped out of his carriage, he and his entourage blazing with bright silks and gold mounted jewels, there was quite a cheer. It didn't hurt that Prince Khagesh was young and handsome, his red hair and violet eyes showing, the British were quick to tell themselves, his descent from Macedonian Greeks, and possibly from Alexander himself.

The swordsman's mind was not really harder to read than most. But if the normal mind flashed its thoughts in neon, Fujimiya wrote his in quiet colours on vellum. Schuldig had to actually pay attention.

It's international book week. The rules: Grab the closest book to you, turn to page 52, post the 5th sentence as your status. Don't mention the title. Copy the rules as part of your post.

"...I was delighted to see him again, the first time in years."

Shared by [livejournal.com profile] mrua7, and copy/pasted from her lj. Anyone wishing to post in theirs is welcome to copy/paste, too.

1: Pick five fandoms. List them in alphabetical order.

2: Visit http://plagiarist.com/poetry/random/ to find your first RANDOM POEM OF POWER. Write down the 5th line (yes, even if it's an E.E. Cummings poem and you wind up with an apostrophe). Repeat five times and - you guessed it - list 'em in alphabetical order! (No cheating, mind! This is a challenge and it's always been about creativity.)

3: I think you can see where this is going. Write a very quick 50-word half-drabble for each fandom (try to do it all in one sitting - make your brain explode!), using the line from the poem as a prompt. You don't have to include it in the half-drabble - it's just inspiration.

4: Bravo! Have a cookie.

[livejournal.com profile] blown_wish kindly shared the 7 questions meme with me. If anyone would like seven questions, I'll do my best. If you would rather just comment on one or more of my answers, that's part of the game, too.

Readers are welcome to supplement or debate this. I'm very good at missing things, and I'd hate the talent not to be recognised.
